Unconventional Tour Concepts

As a follow up of the Friday-morning discussion on unconventional venues in Norway, we will enjoy our Saturday-morning coffee whilst discussing unconventional touring possibilities within other European countries.

This panel discussion was inspired by the (all too) familiar challenge of getting enough gigs to fill a complete tour-route. 
When there are too many gaps in a tour-route, how can we think differently to find additional venues to perform at?

And also: in a tight live-concert market where there is a constant battle for attention – how can we make our concert experience more exceptional and further tempt our audience to go to a concert rather than staying on the sofa on a rainy Tuesday evening?

Do we do enough to make a live concert a truly special experience? Could we be bolder? Or create a new concert experience by changing the surroundings in which the music is performed?

This panel-discussion aims to make you think creatively about tour-booking and event-planning. We hope to hear more about ”the jazz bike tour”, concerts in church-towers, windmills and old light-houses, as well as hear the story about a unique global local-music network of small-format concerts in Germany.

We hope to inspire musicians, booking-agents and concerts-promoters to think “out of the box” next time they are planning a tour.
